California Privacy Notice

This Notice supplements the Privacy Policy for California residents.

Notice at collection

Depending on the feature, ResearchCave may collect identifiers; customer-record information; protected classifications supplied by a user; commercial and payment references; internet or network activity; approximate or precise geolocation when enabled; audio, visual, or message content; professional information; sensitive personal information needed for account security or requested features; and inferences. The Privacy Policy describes sources and retention criteria.

Business purposes

Categories are used to provide and secure services, authenticate accounts, fulfil transactions, support users, debug and improve performance, prevent fraud and abuse, moderate content, comply with law, and perform optional analytics, personalisation, marketing, or advertising consistent with the user's choices.

Disclosure, sale and sharing

Information may be disclosed to service providers, contractors, account administrators, recipients selected by users, professional advisers, and authorities as described in the Privacy Policy. Advertising identifiers and internet activity may constitute sale or sharing under California law when targeted advertising is enabled. ResearchCave does not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16 without the required affirmative authorisation.

California rights

Subject to verification and exceptions, residents may request access to categories and specific pieces, correction, deletion, and information about collection and disclosure; opt out of sale or sharing; and limit use or disclosure of sensitive personal information where the statutory right applies. Global Privacy Control is honoured for browser-based sale and sharing opt-outs.

Requests and appeals

Use Privacy Choices for immediate advertising choices or contact for access, correction, deletion, limitation, or authorised-agent requests. We verify requests without demanding unnecessary information and provide any required explanation or appeal method.

No discrimination

ResearchCave will not unlawfully discriminate because a consumer exercised a privacy right. A permitted financial incentive or price difference, if ever offered, will have its own notice and opt-in terms.
